Michael Zamat is a persuasive litigator with 24 years of experience in commercial litigation, family and divorce law, employment disputes, and condo and co-op matters. His practice spans most areas of commercial disputes, including governance, contracts, securities, business, partnership, and employment issues. He is committed to representing client interests with diligence, careful analysis, and work that meets the highest standards.
Michael has a proven history of securing high value settlements and verdicts. He successfully prosecuted a large disability lawsuit against a worldwide insurance company, a defamation/false light action against Snapchat, secured a 12 million dollar settlement for Israeli investors in a fraudulent transfer dispute, and obtained a $700,000 judgment in a partnership case involving high yield debt funds. His experience also includes serving as Litigation Counsel for GE Money Bank, advising on creditor and debtor matters related to the FDCPA and FCRA.
He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in federal courts across the country. Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Vermont.
